Then, get it fixed. From AUD $500

The repair is quoted separately. I’ll explain how I’ll fix it and the work involved, and you approve a fixed price before I start. You pay once I’ve shown you it’s fixed.

Urgent? Get in touch and I’ll look at it the same business day. Priority work costs extra, and whether I can fix it quickly depends on the issue.

If the problem is affecting your customers, I can also help manage the incident while it’s being fixed.

A clear written diagnosis within five business days, or you don’t pay for it.

For repairs, we agree on the fix, the deadline and what I need from you before I start. If I miss the deadline, you don’t pay for the repair, and I refund the diagnosis. Then you choose: I still finish the fix free, or I hand over my notes so anyone can pick it up.

If my work causes a problem, the original issue or a new one, I fix it at no charge. Platform changes and changes made by others are quoted as new work.

My story

When COVID lockdowns hit, my online store took off. Monthly sales jumped from about $25k to $60k.

On paper, it was a dream. In reality, I ran out of stock fast, and the world’s shipping lanes had ground to a halt. Soon I was getting 20 emails a day from customers asking when their order would arrive, or for a refund. I spent my days answering the same questions instead of growing the business.

It was my own fault. I was greedy. I should have refunded customers there and then, or reached out before they had to ask.

Looking back, two things would have changed everything: someone in my corner to pull my head out of the weeds, and a system that handled those enquiries and stock orders for me.

I’m Alex Boag, the owner and the person doing the work. I love growing businesses, solving the technical problems that hold them back, and building strong relationships with the people behind them.

At Shopify, I coached over 1,000 businesses. The best part was always the owners who cared deeply about what they were building. Helping owners like that will always be my passion.

My biggest regret from running my own business is not having a coach. I got stuck in the day-to-day and lost sight of growing it. I sold it in the end, but I think it would have gone a lot better with someone in my corner.
